Foods
rosacea triggers
This is more of a post to help my poor memory. After a dermatologist visit today, he said that I have rosacea and should avoid the following list. Let's see if I will actually be able to follow his advice...[Photo Source] |
- Liver
- Yogurt
- Sour Cream
- Cheese (except cottage cheese)
- Vanilla
- Soy Sauce
- Yeast Extract (Break is okay)
- Vinegar
- Eggplant
- Avocados
- Spinach
- Broad-leaf beans and pods, including lime, navy, and pea
- Citrus fruits, including tomatoes, bananas, red plums, raisins, and figs
- Spicy and thermally hot food
- Foods high in histamine
Beverages
- Alcohol, esp. red wine, beer, bourbon, gin, vodka, and champagne
- Hot drinks, including hot cider, hot chocolate, coffee, or tea
Reading through the list above, if I actually try to restrict my diet and avoid these foods, I might as well go hungry in Korea. I am also an avid milk tea/latte drinker so avoiding those drinks even now in the United States will be hard. 🙏 Please save me.
Emotional Influences
- Stress
- Anxiety
Um... I dunno about y'all, but I live off of stress and anxiety. Who am I without the foundations of my personality? What am I? How do I get out of this flesh cage?
Of course, I'm going to try to take better care of my emotional health while abroad in a new country, but I'm also relatively sure that I won't be able to just cross stress and anxiety off the list.
Skin Care Products
- Some cosmetics and hair sprays, esp. containing alcohol
Temperature-Related
- Sun
- Strong winds
- Humidity
Drugs
- Vasodilators
- Tropical Steroids
The sun. You and I? We're over. I'm avoiding you for the rest of my existence.
Everything else above seems pretty manageable. I think.
Medical Conditions
- Frequent flushing
- Menopause
- Chronic cough
- Caffeine withdrawal
Physical Exertion
- Exercise
- Lift and load jobs
I made it my goal to do more exercise in Korea (if I can and there's available time outside of teaching). ):< Let's go. Fight me, rosacea.
